Hello Football Enthusiasts,

The Swiss African forum (SAF) and Sport – The Bridge (STB) send our most sincere appreciation to the following for their various roles that led to the successful hosting of the Swiss african Football Cup last weekend on the Allmend in Bern:

– The Integration Office kanton Berne

– The Young Boys Football Club for their great support including sponsoring some of the prizes

– The  Embassy of Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroun and S. Africa for their moral support

– All the Participating Teams for the spirit of Sportsmanship displayed (Infact, all of you deserved the Fairplay Trophy)

– Swiss Blacks for the presentation and discussion on racism during the interval

– Swiss olympics for the logistics support

– The SAF, STB members and the volunteers who were on hand from 06:00 to 23:00 as helpers

– DER BUND Newspaper for their coverage of the event (Der Bund of Monday July 27, 2009 page 17)

On a final note we thank all the teams for putting up their best and say a big CONGRATULATIONS to UNION AFRICA, LUZERN for winning the trophy. We look forward to next year with greater expectations.
